
Public Health Preparedness Project Specialist
Milwaukee/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness
Full-Time Exempt
PURPOSE: Develops, implements, and evaluates the regional emergency preparedness training, planning, and exercise programming for the Milwaukee/Waukesha County Consortium for Emergency Public Health Preparedness.
WORK SCHEDULE: Full time position; available 24/7 for emergency response if needed; includes days, occasional evenings and weekends. This position is 100% grant funded and is annually contingent upon funding. The current salary range is $55,000-$63,000 annually.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Provide advanced project development services for the 14 local public health agencies within a two county region as directed by the Consortium Board of Directors and Consortium Program Coordinator.
· Provide advanced leadership and strategic direction within a political environment.
· Develop comprehensive all hazards plans and exercises that address various incident types.
· Evaluate effectiveness of programs by tracking data elements and preparing technical reports.
· Provide continuous communication, including updates and reports to Board Members, staff, media, and response partners.
· Create marketing pieces for public health emergency preparedness.
· Participate in existing partner organizations and coalitions within and outside of state.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
1. Bachelor’s Degree in public health, health education, nursing, public administration, marketing, business administration, or another field providing the essential skills. Master’s degree preferred.
2. Three years of knowledge and experience in public health emergency preparedness education and/or programming preferred.
3. Knowledge and/or experience in NIMS, ICS, and SNS desired.
4. Experience in facilitating groups, coalitions, focus groups, and Homeland Security Exercise and Evaluation Program (HSEEP) driven exercises.
6. Proficient in education course development, implementation, and evaluation.
7. Proficient use of a personal computer in a windows environment, particularly Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook. Experience with Access, Web Page Design, and Publisher desired.
8. Must possess a reliable personal vehicle (with insurance coverage as required by the City) available for use at work and a valid Wisconsin driver’s license.
9. Equivalent combinations of training and experience will be considered.
