The Department of Nutrition and Health Science at Ball State University is pleased to invite applications for a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Health Science. This position begins on August 17, 2018. Primary responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, conducting scholarly research, and providing service to the university and profession.
The Department of Nutrition and Health Science (NHS) is one of seven academic units in the College of Health at Ball State University. The Department was formed in 2016 by combining the Nutrition and Dietetics programs from the Department of Family and Consumer Science with the Health Science program from the Department of Physiology and Health Science. The Department of NHS offers a graduate degree in Nutrition and Dietetics. Baccalaureate programs within the department include: Nutrition and Dietetics, Health Education and Promotion, Health and Physical Education, Respiratory Therapy, and Radiography. By combining the nutrition and health science programs, the Department of NHS provides a blend of opportunities that prepare students for not only graduate school, but also a wide assortment of competitive health related careers.
Minimum Qualifications: . Completed all requirements for doctoral degree in community or public health education/promotion or closely-related field from an accredited institution by August 17, 2018. Experience in community or public health. Evidence of excellent teaching skills. Evidence of potential for establishing a defined line of scholarship. CHES/MCHES eligible.
Preferred Qualifications: Successful college or university teaching experience. A record of quality scholarly accomplishments, including refereed publications, presentations, and research funding. Experience with online or hybrid courses. Involvement in appropriate professional organizations. Involvement in community-based projects. Willingness to commit to active engagement in departmental activities and service initiatives.
